Riverfront renovation / British Columbia

River Front

A riverside transformation centred around expansive outdoor living, natural woodwork, and uninterrupted views of the landscape.

01.

Its most important feature: the view

This river-front renovation and expansion reorients an established home toward its most important feature: the view. A generous new deck and covered outdoor living area extend the usable space of the residence while creating a comfortable transition between indoors and the riverbank.

02.

Welcome shelter throughout changing seasons

Substantial timber posts support the broad roof canopy, giving the addition a strong architectural presence and providing welcome shelter throughout British Columbia’s changing seasons. Warm cedar decking, wood soffits, shingle detailing, and wood-framed windows.

Behind the finished surfaces

Behind the finished surfaces, the project involved extensive structural framing, roof construction, exterior insulation, window installation, and careful integration with the existing building. The completed addition feels open and relaxed, providing a place to gather, enjoy the changing light, and experience the river throughout the year.
